This problem occurs when you configure manually the ip address of the client. If the client takes an ip from sbs dhcp server it works fine.

David,

I tried to reproduce your problem and I can't. I run RC1 on a physical machine, with Microsoft Virtual Server R2 SP1 and I created a VM with XP Pro SP2. I run http://connect without issues.

It's possible your problem has to do with the networking setup of the two VMs

I'll have to check that with RC1. Although I installed RC1 I didn't create a new VM for a client computer yet so I can't comment about your issue.

I'll try to find some time and do that and I'll post back

I just set up a fresh RC1 too, and the http://connect doesn't go anywhere, just a 404. If i go to http://connect.domain.local I get a nice IIS7 logo splash that takes me to Microsoft's site if I click on it.

I'm using a VM for XP Pro to connect to SBS08 on another VM. I can ping just fine and do name resolution.

Hi Brett,

I didn't try RC1 yet, maybe on the weekend, but I didn't have the problem when I did this post. I have to say that I used a VM for the Vista, but I don't think that is the issue.

You might want to try posting at the forums and see if anyone can help

Hi

I had trouble joining PC's to the domain the normal way

I tried this method yesterday on RC1.

All is well and good until the configuration part of where I keep getting bad username or password which is what I was getting the normal way.

I cant figure it out, I am using the admin account username and password that I created on the initial setup but still gives the same error.

Any suggestions?
